The Palka Diaries - Bark & Butterflies

This art installation is based on Adrian Palka's epic journey to Siberia inspired by an inherited wartime diary describing his father’s and grandfather’s experience of the deportation Gulag.
Explore this epic journey through video, sound recordings, poems and photographs taken during the trip.
The installation has been shown at galleries and events including the Kresy-Siberia Conference (Warsaw, Poland), Kunst am SpreeKnie Festival (Berlin), Klangland Sonic Art Festival (Kasseler Kunst Verein, Kassel, Germany) and the Coventry Peace Festival (Coventry, UK).
There is also a free, illustrated talk on WW2 Polish Exile to the Gulag, based on an expedition to Siberia by Adrian Palka in the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library on Thursday 31st January at 7pm. Tickets available from thenphg.org
