Burnt Fen Alpacas

Makers' Month wouldn't be the same without a visit from the residents of Burnt Fen Alpacas, near Horning. Get up close with these curious creatures and find out how they are looked after and what can be made with their fleece. If the Alpacas get cold, or bored, or irritable, they may have to leave before 4pm. So get here early to see them at their best. Or book a visit to Burnt Fen Alpacas.
Charli Vince Face Painting

Petal and Purl
Mon 19 to Sun 25 Mar
Petal and Purl is a new crafting group from the village of Caston, in Norfolk, who are working towards an extravagant knitting festival in their village in 2019. They're at Makers' Month for seven days, not only to provide free demonstrations and activities, but also to recruit new members to help with their big plans. Take a seat and have a go at making flowers, bunting and food from knitted squares.

Make a Mandala
Mon 12, Wed 14, Sat 24, Sun 25 Mar (10am-1pm)
Sit around the table with crochet artist Kally, from Woollenwood, and make a mandala. It doesn’t matter if you are just learning or a crochet enthusiast. This is all about contributing to a collection of mandalas which will form a display at next year’s makers’ event at The Forum.

Pottery with Richard Wilks

Let artist Richard Wilks show you how to make handbuilt ceramics and how to use a potter's wheel. Try your hand at decorating pots. Richard teaches in various schools and institutions and offers courses for beginners and experienced artists.
Giant Pom Pom Making
Sat 24 & Sun 25 Mar
Helen Simpson - also known as Helen of Norwich - loves to yarn bomb and has been responsible for many woolly decorations around Norwich. Join her to make some large pom poms which will be used in her next yarn bombing project, especially for Makers' Month, taking place outside The Forum on Fri 30 and Sat 31 March. If you love a bit of a group project, combined with a bit of craftivism and a pile of colourful wool, get involved! No pom pom making experience necessary. All ages welcome.
Make a Dream Catcher
