Call for developers as Norwich Gaming Festival returns to the Forum!

    The Forum Norwich - 16 Mar 2018

The Forum, Norwich has announced that Norwich Gaming Festival will return on Monday 28 May - Sunday 3 June 2018. Gaming fans can enjoy a week of free gaming fun, no ticket required!

Organised and run by The Forum Trust, Norwich Gaming Festival celebrates the cultural, creative and educational aspects of the gaming industry. It’s for all ages, all levels of interest and expertise, and a great opportunity for local, national and international talent to showcase their expertise in game development and programming.

Last year over 40,000 visitors came to the festival and 2018 promises to be bigger and better than ever. The jam packed programme will include indie, mainstream and retro games, seminars, talks, workshops, demos and shows.

So far over 40 independent developers are set to showcase their games, giving visitors the chance to find out more about their creation and festival organisers are calling for developers and publishers who are keen to showcase their games to get involved.

Commenting Festival Project Manager Richard Smith said: “Norwich Gaming Festival is unique because of its emphasis showcasing the amazing creations of independent developers and highlighting the amazing career and educational opportunities available. If you have a game that you want to showcase there’s no better opportunity or platform for thousands of people to play your game!”

Norwich Gaming Festival’s lead education partner is Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) who have been involved since the festival’s inception in 2013. NUA students will showcase their work, give talks and exhibit games throughout the festival. Visitors will also be able to find out more about courses available at NUA including BSc Games Development and BA Games Art and Design. The University of East Anglia (UEA) and Access to Games are also providing additional educational support.
