Ahead of The Forum’s fifth birthday on 1st November 2006, The Forum Trust has launched a quartet of websites, developed by local company WSCreative.
For the first time, The Forum Trust has launched its own website,
www.theforumtrust.co.uk to provide information about the not for profit charitable organisation that manages the well known Forum building. For businesses looking to get involved in the work at The Forum, perhaps as part of their CSR policy, sponsorship opportunities for many of the wide and varied range of projects that The Forum Trust carries out are highlighted. Case studies of projects in which The Forum Trust’s Research and Innovation unit is involved, often working with groups across Europe and particularly in the fields of IT, can also be found.
The newly updated and refreshed
www.theforumnorwich.co.uk is an information portal for all visitors to and users of The Forum building. Information about the inhabitants of the building, services offered and provided can be found directly from the home page. Surfers can navigate around the website extremely quickly to find the information that they require. The new Events Calendar is directly powered by a feed from The Forum Trust’s new internal events management system, Artifax. Events need only be entered into the database once before being published directly to the website. The colours used on the website change with the seasons, reflecting the colours used in the popular hard copy Events Guide. Visitors can also register to receive e-news letters about forthcoming events at The Forum.
The Origins Visitor Centre website,
www.originsnorwich.co.uk has also been updated, providing information about the high tech visitor attraction housed in the Forum building.
The Forum Trust is also piloting an on-line shop for the Origins Gift Shop at
www.originsgiftshop.co.uk where a wide range of Norfolk and Norwich gifts and souvenirs along with Christmas gifts can be purchased. More and more products are added weekly, particularly as the shop starts to gear up for the busiest time in the retail calendar.
Mark Hand, Marketing Manager said: “We now have four fresh and exciting websites, all of which comply to DDA guidelines and can be changed and updated internally, without the need to reply on an external supplier. WSCreative was chosen because of their philosophy that a website should belong to a company, not to the developers who built it and that the company should be able to change and maintain every single aspect of it themselves, simply and easily. We are absolutely delighted with the results and look forward to updating the sites as things change and progress here at The Forum.”
Jeremy Storr from WSCreative said: “We were delighted to win the tender for The Forum Trust websites. We pride ourselves on designing websites that will suit each individual customer’s needs and requirements, will have easy navigation and be simple to use, whilst ensuring that they obtain the maximum visibility on the Internet. WSCreative also designs databases, intranet and extranet systems.”
