The Comedy Store at The Forum celebrates its fiftieth show this month. Since 2001, the show has been showcasing the very best stand-up talent from across the globe.
Genial Geordie, Mickey Hutton is a self-proclaimed ‘chancer.’ Hutton’s career has spanned stand-up, writing, music and TV. He hosted cult kids TV show Hangar 17 and starred alongside Jimmy Nail in Spender and Crocodile Shoes while also managing to ghost-write ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman’s (Big Brother) book.
Matt Welcome oozes confidence and ability, quickly easing into some sublime and taut material. Crisp and pithy, Welcome’s routine deliciously combine sarcastic observations and just enough offbeat material to keep audiences wondering and wanting more.
Ivan Brackenbury, is one of the hottest acts on the circuit right now. Nominated for comedy’s most prestigious award, the If.com Comedy Awards in Edinburgh last year, his bumbling hospital DJ routine is packed full of fabulously cheap jokes and hugely inappropriate dedications.
Johnny Vaughan’s replacement on Channel 4's The Big Breakfast, Paul Tonkinson was winner of the 1992 ‘Time Out New Act of the Year Award’ and was ‘Time Out Stand Up Comic of the Year’ in 1997. With a polished line in mimicry and consistently funny improvisations, Paul has headlined show across the globe and is a TV regular.
Tickets are on sale now from the Origins ticket desk at The Forum, 01603 727922 or Theatre Royal Box Office on 01603 630000.
