Learning at BBC Voices

Tell your story

BBC Voices uses the resources and expertise of the BBC for the benefit of the community. It has 10 computers with photo, film and audio editing programmes and can help people make their own films and audio features.

You can get involved with a variety of projects run from the BBC Voices room and out in the community throughout the year. The BBC Voices team works with people of all ages, from school groups to senior citizens.

The majority of work carried out by the BBC Voices team, headed up by Gary Standley, BBC Voices Producer, is about storytelling. Projects like ‘Telling your Family Tree’ can teach you about media, filming and computers along the way to producing your very own  Family Tree DVD. The BBC Voices team want people not only to listen to radio, watch TV or use our website – but to learn how to make their own programmes and features as well.

If you would like to get involved, email for a list of current projects or click here for the Voices website
