Arts Award is a great way for children and young people to be inspired by and enjoy the arts.

Arts Award enables young people to grow as artists and arts leaders. It is not about ability and seeks to bring out an individual’s journey through the arts, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through setting personal challenges in the art form of their choice. Arts Award offers a national qualification that enable young people to progress into further education and employment. Arts Award levels Explore to Gold are nationally recognised qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

    What is Arts Award?

Arts Award is a national qualification for young people aged up to 25, which introduces a range of art forms through a broad programme of cultural activities and experiences. Designed over five levels, Award recognises the personal achievements and independent discoveries recorded by the award participants.

    Arts Award in Action

In August 2017, The Forum ran a ‘Heritage Heroes’ Arts Award Summer School as part of Heritage Open Days. Seven Year 5 children achieved their Arts Award Discover. Over 5 days the children learned about the history and heritage of Surrey House and its architect George Skipper. They made creative responses to their research and delivered tours of Surrey House for over 70 members of the public as part of Heritage Open Days.
