Norfolk in the First World War

Commemorating 100 years since the Second Battle of Gaza, April 1917

Do you have stories, photographs, letters or objects relating to North Norfolk soldiers who fell in the Second Battle of Gaza? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

As part of the Heritage Lottery Funded project ‘Norfolk in the First World War: Somme to Armistice’, The Forum, Norwich is marking the centenary of the Second Battle of Gaza.

Hundreds of local men serving in The Norfolk Regiment fought in this battle and research is underway on soldiers specifically from North and West Norfolk.

Schools from Kings Lynn and North Norfolk are involved in the project and your stories, photographs and letters could assist in their learning.

The research will feed into a touring exhibition which will start at The Forum and Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library on 18 April 2017 and be available for schools and community venues to hire.
