Council Information Centre

Face-to-face information and advice

Norwich Council Information Centre is situated in the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library. The centre offers an in person, face-to-face information and advice facility for the citizens of Norfolk. It is a partnership between Norfolk County Council, Broadland District Council and South Norfolk District Council. The staff also work very closely with other public sector and local voluntary organisations such as Age Concern, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Mancroft Advice Project.

The centre was set up to make council services more accessible to residents and to provide a one-stop shop facility for other local organisations. The centre provides a face-to-face service for residents who prefer to speak to a member of staff rather than use the phone or internet.

Council information officers can take the time to establish the exact nature of the enquiry and assist residents to solve the problem. The public can also be put in touch with the appropriate council officers who can handle specific and more in depth enquiries.

Staff at the Council Information Centre can help with a variety of council issues ranging from bus & rail passes and leisure permits, council tax enquiries, refuse collection & recycling to highways, transportation, adult education and much more.

Local and voluntary organisations hold drop in advice sessions at the Council Information Centre and these are advertised in the EDP.
