Poetry Lab Mon 4 October - Sat 9 October

Poetry Lab
Your EventFollow Us

Come along to The Forum’s Poetry Lab and take part in a literary experiment with our ‘mad scientist’ poets. The poems you create in the ‘laboratory’ will be published on our huge Fusion screen for all to admire.

The ‘mad scientists’ are all professional wordsmiths who live and work in Norfolk. They’ll be wearing white lab coats and working with members of the public to mix up wild and wacky formulas of words and phrases.

Who knows what works of art will be created or what poetic talents will emerge?

The Poetry Lab is open to everyone and it’s free. Just walk into the Fusion area. You can simply stand and watch if you don’t want to have a go.

The writers involved are Martin Figura (pictured), Helen Ivory, Bel Greenwood, Julia Webb and Sarah Roby.  All are published writers or poets who will be happy to encourage and develop a poem with you.

To give you extra inspiration the event incorporates the winning poems form this year's EDP Bayer Poetry competition.  Each year young people are given the challenge of creating a poem which describes a theme.  This year’s subject matter was food and hopefully the resulting poems will have everyone licking their lips.
