Burnt Offerings Mon 19 March - Tue 20 March

On 1 August 1994 Norwich Central Library was destroyed by fire and it was feared at the time that the entire library, including the outstanding Local Studies collection, was gone forever.  However, despite losing a proportion of historical material, most of the collection was saved and has slowly been rebuilt and improved. Many of the surviving items still bear scars from that eventful day in 1994 and for many this makes their historical significance even greater.
