NORWICHRISTMAS

The city's festive fayre

A whole host of Norwich shops, organisations and performers came together to present NORWICHRISTMAS, the city's festive fayre for eight days from Wednesday 28 November to Wednesday 5 December 2007.

Norwich ’s new festive fayre took to the streets in front of City Hall and in and around The Forum with more than 80 stalls offering the perfect gifts for Christmas. Visitors discovered a wide selection of high quality Norfolk crafts from handmade jewellery, soaps and stained glass to Christmas decorations, textiles, cards and unusual household items. They sampled the delights of French, Italian, Polish and German food, wine and delicious home-made sweets before exploring Norwich market under a sea of multi-coloured roofs where products range from exotic spices to useful house wares on more than 160 stalls.

Visitors enjoyed some stunning Russian circus entertainers who performed at the NORWICHRISTMAS entertainment zones. Among the best circus performers in Europe, they were in Norfolk to star in a spectacular event at Sandringham and performed in Norwich for the eight days of NORWICHRISTMAS.

Children’s activities and music including brass bands and carol singing took place on Chapelfield Plain, reindeer visited John Lewis and Santa made a welcome appearance at Jarrolds.

Lots of Norwich shops were proud to take part in NORWICHRISTMAS. Range, quality and an element of surprise are all part of the Norwich shopping experience with hundreds of high street and individual shops to explore. Chapelfield, The Mall, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and our very own Jarrolds were all involved in NORWICHRISTMAS as were the Norwich Lanes where you can explore a treasure trove of shops selling everything from designer clothes and home wares to handmade confectionery, dolls house furniture and teddy bears.
