Go Elephants! turned the city’s open spaces into an artistic urban safari with 53 life-size baby elephant sculptures, colourfully painted, decorated and adorned by local Norfolk
artists and
community groups this summer.
Bringing the event to a close, 41 members of the herd were sold at a Gala Charity Auction on Tuesday 23rd September, raising a staggering £203,100. With 75% of the net proceeds going to two charities: the Born Free Foundation and CLIC Sargent Children’s Charity, the auction was a great success. Two noteable sales included Sovereign Art Prize winner Susan Gunn's 'Jemima', who fetched £25,000, and Kate Munro's 'Angel' who went for £16,000. The Forum Trust has been delighted to work with Wild in Art and all our local and national partners to deliver what has been one of the most exciting events in the eastern region for summer 2008.
