BBC Voices

A media workshop and production unit for film, music and radio based at The Forum in Norwich.

The team provides film making and radio editing workshops and sessions to individuals, groups, businesses, schools and colleges throughout the Eastern region. BBC Voices also offers production sessions where beginners can get advice and help with personal film and audio projects.

You can see the films produced by Voices 'graduates' at the Norfolk on Film website.

Making Movies

If you would like to know how to make your own film, our Making Movies Day is for you. It's a beginner's guide, covering everything from getting the best shots right through to the editing process. No equipment or experience is needed - and you even get to take away your own film at the end of the day!

The sessions are run from a fully equipped workshop in The Forum.

Audio Interview and Recording Skills

A basic two hour workshop on operating recording equipment and interviewing techniques open to anyone wanting this help. In the past this has included requests from schools, oral history groups and individuals wanting to record village and family histories.

Production Sessions

You may have a film idea or a radio project in mind, but need some help in getting started. Or you may simply want to talk over your ideas with someone.  The BBC Voices staff have many years production experience and are happy to offer their advice and skills in these pre-booked sessions.

Schools, Colleges and Youth Groups

BBC Voices offers a range of free film and audio workshops aimed at school aged children and young people.

BBC Introducing In Norfolk

BBC Voices produces BBC Introducing in Norfolk, two weekly new music programmes for BBC Radio Norfolk.

BBC Introducing in Norfolk is part of the national BBC Introducing brand, so your music could feature not just locally, but be picked up by national BBC Radio. You might even get the chance to record a session at the BBC Maida Vale studios in London or be offered a spot on one of the BBC Introducing stages at Glastonbury, Latitude, Reading or Leeds!
